Dynastie painting by Amalia Brava

EMOTIONS BECOME COLOR. THE INVISIBLE BECOMES FORM.

"My artistic research begins with the idea that invisible forces guide both the cosmos and inner life. Color is my emotional nucleus: each hue becomes the starting point for gestures, rhythms, and forms that unfold intuitively, never predetermined. Through painting, I build a bridge between what is seen and what remains hidden, between the microcosm of inner experience and the macrocosm of the universe. Each canvas becomes a space of resonance, inviting viewers to sense the subtle transit that connects the personal with the universal."

VISION ARTIST

We live immersed in a flow that exceeds us, in a cosmos constantly in motion, hidden behind everyday perception. The universe (both vast and microscopic) is always transforming: stars are born and die, galaxies collide and dissolve, subatomic particles traverse matter without leaving visible traces. Similarly, invisible dynamics shape emotions, memories, and relationships, quietly guiding how we perceive and act.

Amalia Brava's practice springs from this idea of cosmic transit: a continuous passage between what appears and what remains hidden, between birth and dissolution, between personal experience and the universe. Each gesture, each color, each form becomes a bridge, linking the visible and invisible, inner life and the forces shaping reality.

Throughout history, philosophical and spiritual traditions have sought to understand these invisible forces. In Indian philosophy, Adṛṣṭa describes what escapes the eye yet guides destiny. Western phenomenology, through Maurice Merleau-Ponty, emphasizes how the invisible is essential to perception and embodiment. Alchemical traditions speak of subtle energies transforming matter and consciousness, showing that every visible form expresses what is unseen.

Contemporary science also confirms the presence of invisible phenomena: subatomic particles passing through matter, cosmic energy flows, cycles of birth and collapse. These processes mirror human life: emotions arising and dissolving, silent intuitions, invisible connections shaping our existence.

For Brava, painting becomes a tool for observation, interpretation, and revelation. Each canvas offers a space to engage with invisible energies. Color serves as an emotional nucleus, guiding the gesture; form emerges from the balance between control and release, matter and space. Painting becomes a threshold, a meeting point between microcosm and macrocosm, between personal experience and the shared universe.

Dynamic movement, metamorphosis, intimacy.

Satelliti

Microcosms in black and metallic green, with abstract, organic forms (sometimes evoking structures reminiscent of bones) tracing invisible connections between individual and universe.

AMALIA BRAVA

Amalia Brava

Amalia Brava is a self-taught abstract artist born in Otelu-Rosu and based in Berlin. Her practice emerges from a direct and intuitive relationship with color, which she chooses as an emotional compass and the center of her pictorial gesture. Each painting begins from a chromatic nucleus, around which movement, form, and rhythm unfold in a process that is never predetermined but constantly revealed.

Her work explores the notion of cosmic transit: the invisible passage between what is born and what dissolves, between what becomes visible and what remains hidden. Painting becomes not only a material practice, but also a space of resonance, where gesture and color embody the subtle forces shaping both inner life and the cosmos.

Brava's main series, Dynastie and L'Arbre du Temps, investigate these thresholds from different perspectives. Dynastie evokes cosmic and mythological dimensions, planetary orbits, and invisible genealogies, while L'Arbre du Temps reflects on cyclical time through trees, roots, and branches as metaphors of memory and transformation. Other works, such as Butterfly and Dedication, explore intimacy, metamorphosis, and dynamic movement. Her upcoming Satellites series will consist of ten small works (18×18 cm) in black and metallic green, conceived as microcosms tracing unseen connections between the individual and the universe.

Since
2024, Brava has exhibited in Berlin, taking part in events such as 48 Stunden Neukölln and collective projects promoted by Hildashaus e.V. Alongside painting, she has a long-standing passion for the piano, studying works by Béla Bartók and Chick Corea, which inform her sensitivity and intuitive approach to visual rhythm.

Through her painting, Brava invites viewers to perceive invisible energies, recognize the intertwining of the personal and the universal, and encounter the quiet but constant transit that moves through all existence.
